Turning a delay into fun! When stopped by a passing train, we help keep students smiling by playing a game similar to "Who Stole the Cookie from the Cookie Jars?" It's a simple and creative way to turn waiting time into a positive moment.

Here is one of our learners practicing a job task. Through hands-on experiences like these, learners build valuable workplace skills and confidence they use to pursue future employment opportunities.

The students made delicious “pup” themed trail mix—packed with tasty treats and lots of hard work! Some staff from the Ed Center walked over to Pathway to try a sample!


Safety is at the top of Dr. Hubert’s list when it comes to his littlest learners and his dedicated staff. As Superintendent, his focus is usually on the big picture of district operations, but that day, that picture included a weathered pine that had become a genuine safety concern. After standing its ground through a series of heavy storms, the old tree was officially deemed a hazard to the playground below.
















We had a great day welcoming our incoming learners from local high schools for their first official visit to STEP!
Students explored the building, connected with classmates and teachers, and took on some fun 'Minute to Win It' Challenges.
It's always exciting to see those first connections form and the nerves turn into excitement. We can't wait to welcome you back in the fall—welcome to the STEP family!






Our learners visited the Fowlerville fire department, asked great questions, learned what firefighters do, and built real-life skills to stay safe in an emergency.





On Reveal Day I officially found out my next rotation is in Supply Chain Management. I can't wait to get started and see what this industry is all about!

One of the Guys Groups at PREP worked on team-building skills by taking on the challenge of building the tallest tower using only tape, index cards, and cups. The students were incredibly proud of their creations and the teamwork they demonstrated throughout the activity.


Tracie Schanen, Kim Willis and Megan Makowski, LESA's Assistive Technology Consultants prepare for the AAC Spring into Learning Parent Event. They shared practical tips for communication partners and promoted inclusion and kindness. The event was a huge success!



We had the opportunity to visit the Mixter Institute in Lincoln Park to see their Transition Program for learners with autism—and their student-led podcast, "Mixing it up with Mixter," in action.
Thank you to Michigan Rehabilitation Services for connecting us to this work. It was great to see students of all support levels engaging with the technology and interview process.
A highlight of the visit was their first successful virtual interview with Alana Anderson—an exciting milestone!
