Adult helping student sit on the floor while pretending to roast marshmellows.

In collaboration with our Educational Service Center, we created an immersive, camping-themed book experience for our Pathway students. Throughout the week, students engaged in Comprehensive Literacy for All lessons, culminating in a hands-on experience that brought their book to life. Students explored real-life items connected to the story—building shared experiences and prior knowledge that support comprehension and communication.

It takes a team! Grateful for our Assistive Technology Consultant, Tracie, for supporting engagement through communication, joint attention, and shared learning. The power of learning through play shines through every moment. 💬🤝🏕️

Check out what happened when one of our students traded her book for a rod and reeled in her very first catch during our camping immersive literacy event. Watching our students connect the stories they read with real-world adventures is what these events are all about!

Using SnapType and AAC together provides the perfect toolkit to help students share their personality and favorite things with the world. It’s a beautiful reminder of how the right technology can empower every student to find their voice and shine! ✨

Our STEP learners are out and about enjoying the perks of an open campus lunch!

While a yummy meal is a great reward, this is also a valuable classroom moment. By navigating an open campus, our learners are practicing essential time management and professionalism—learning exactly how to balance their break and ensure they are back to class right on time, just like any employee in the workforce.

We love seeing our students embrace this independence and build the skills they need for a successful future!

Two smiling children sit at a small, purple-edged desk in a classroom. On the left, a girl in a light blue t-shirt and dark pants rests her hand on a worksheet. On the right, a boy in a red t-shirt and black shorts smiles broadly at the camera. The desk is filled with learning tools, including a tablet displaying a communication app, a pencil carousel, and a clipboard with the word "reese's" written on it. The white cinder block walls are decorated with a floor plan and a colorful Dinosaur Alphabet poster.
We are absolutely thrilled to officially welcome these incredible students to the Livingston Educational Service Agency (LESA) family for the 2026-2027 school year!

It was an inspiring day at Howell High as these learners took the next big step in their educational journey by joining our PREP and STEP programs. We can't wait to see all the growth, hard work, and success this group will achieve in the coming year.

Please join us in giving a huge "Welcome" to our newest LESA learners!

Did you know that some of our team members wear more than one hat? Amy, Becky, Tammy, and Carolyn are not only bus drivers and bus aides—but also job coaches! They lend a hand with job coaching during their breaks.

"We’re at the start of the job coaching journey for our learners, and we’re so proud to be part of their teaching team. We truly enjoy seeing them succeed!"

It’s always meaningful to see leadership out in our programs, connecting directly with students. Superintendent Dr. Michael Hubert recently visited one of our Project SEARCH interns, taking time to learn about the intern's work and celebrate their progress. Moments like this reflect the power of inclusive opportunities and the bright futures our students are building every day.

The Livingston County School Board Association held its annual meeting at Pinckney High School on April 15. This event brings together school board members from all five local districts to collaborate, share ideas, and receive updates on key topics including school safety, finance, and student achievement.

We would like to thank Kevin Welling and the PCHS Orchestra for providing entertainment for the evening. We would also like to thank food service director, Chris Haskin, Chef Bart, and Rose & Grace from Farley Hill who prepared an amazing dinner!
