As Livingston ESA’s AI Consultant, Amy helps staff across the agency and beyond build practical technology skills that make their work more efficient, effective, and accessible.

Amy works with employees at all levels, from superintendents to bus drivers, helping them understand and apply artificial intelligence in meaningful ways. Whether she is introducing a new tool, leading professional learning, or brainstorming solutions to everyday challenges, Amy has a unique ability to meet people where they are and make complex concepts approachable.

What sets Amy apart is not only her expertise, but also her commitment to helping others succeed. She takes the time to understand individual needs, answer questions, and identify solutions that can reduce workload and improve outcomes.

“Amy is a true powerhouse in her field,” shared a colleague. “Her recent presentation to the Transportation Department was masterfully handled; she kept the entire team engaged and fielded complex questions with impressive speed and clarity. From the fine details of document editing to the creative execution of poster design, Amy’s versatile expertise and passion for her work are clear. We are lucky to have such a knowledgeable colleague.”

Over the past year, Amy has played a significant role in advancing AI literacy throughout the agency. Her work has helped staff across departments better understand emerging technologies and discover practical ways to incorporate them into their daily responsibilities.

“Her proactive leadership in the realm of AI integration has been transformative, reaching every corner of our organization—from Transportation to Administrative staff and the classroom,” one colleague wrote.

Colleagues credit Amy with making technology accessible and actionable for a wide range of audiences.

“Amy has demystified AI for a diverse range of staff, ensuring that technology is accessible and actionable for everyone, regardless of their department,” a colleague noted.

In addition to agency-wide training and support, Amy has been a key contributor in refining AI tools used throughout the organization. Her willingness to test new ideas, provide thoughtful feedback, and collaborate with others has helped ensure those tools are effective and user-friendly.

“Over the last year, Amy has been a vital partner in the refinement of Gems and other forms of AI,” a colleague shared. “Her insights and technical feedback have been instrumental in polishing these tools into high-value assets.”

Amy’s impact extends beyond Livingston ESA as well. She has presented to educators and leaders throughout the county, helping position the agency as a forward-thinking leader in educational technology.

“She delivered a high-impact presentation to teacher representatives from LESA and local districts at the Transition Council meeting,” a colleague explained. “Amy’s hands-on support provided the clarity and technical direction we needed to succeed.”

Her influence can also be seen in the support she provides to specialized programs. Drawing on her background in assistive technology, Amy has helped staff identify tools and resources that better meet the needs of learners, including adult students.

“She has been immensely helpful in our special education programs,” a colleague shared. “Amy helped us find ways to create books tailored specifically to our learners’ interests, making literacy more engaging and meaningful.”

Amy is known not only for her knowledge, but also for her enthusiasm. She is always eager to explore new ideas, share emerging technologies, and collaborate with others to solve problems.

“Amy doesn't just bring exciting technology to the agency; she brings the vision and support system necessary to make that technology work for us,” one colleague said.

Amy joined Livingston ESA in 2016 and spent much of her career serving as a Program Consultant for Assistive Technology before transitioning into her current role as AI Consultant. Throughout her time with the agency, she has remained committed to helping others learn, grow, and embrace new possibilities.

Much of Amy’s work involves preparing staff for the future, but her impact is felt every day. Through her leadership, expertise, and willingness to support others, she is helping build a culture of innovation across Livingston ESA.
