Honoring Excellence: Lisa Pecorilli

For nearly two decades, Lisa Pecorilli-Eoll has made a meaningful and lasting impact on early childhood education through her leadership, innovation, and deep commitment to literacy. In her role as a Preschool Literacy coach, Lisa works to ensure that young learners, families, and educators have the tools and support they need to build strong foundations in early literacy.

Lisa leads and supports a wide range of initiatives designed to strengthen literacy outcomes for young children. She plays a key role in selecting, organizing, and distributing books for two- and three-year-olds, while also developing family engagement activities that extend learning beyond the classroom. Through her work, she helps ensure that literacy is not only taught in schools, but also supported at home in meaningful and accessible ways.

“Lisa, as our early literacy coach, is deeply committed to selecting, organizing, and distributing our books that go home with all of our two- and three-year-olds,” a colleague shared. “She develops accompanying family engagement activities to support children in growing their emerging literacy skills and models high-quality literacy instruction in classrooms.”

Lisa’s influence extends far beyond Livingston County. She has developed a network of literacy coaches that support preschools across the state, expanding her impact to educators and children well beyond the local community.

“Lisa has developed a network of literacy coaches that serve preschools from across the state,” one colleague noted. “She is making a broad impact on educators and children far beyond Livingston County.”

Her work with initiatives such as Talking is Teaching further reflects her passion for early literacy. Lisa has gone above and beyond to create engaging activities that accompany monthly books and materials, helping families connect with their children’s learning in thoughtful and intentional ways.

In addition to her programmatic work, Lisa is known for her willingness to step in wherever she is needed. Whether supporting classrooms, leading professional learning, coaching colleagues, or organizing large-scale projects, she consistently demonstrates a team-first mindset.

“She is always ready to help,” said Heather Lucas, Livingston ESA’s Director of Early Childhood Education. “Whether she’s stepping in to support in a classroom, delivering professional learning, coaching a team member, or organizing a project, she is an invaluable member of the early childhood staff.”

Lisa’s leadership has also led to lasting improvements behind the scenes. She played a key role in reorganizing and streamlining shared files and resources across her department — a project that significantly improved efficiency and access for staff throughout the agency.

“Lisa led the charge in organizing our shared files and folders,” Heather shared. “The work she did has improved organization and efficiency for our entire team and set a standard that is now being used across departments.”

Her creativity and dedication are especially evident in her work with students. Lisa brings literacy to life through engaging, hands-on experiences, including creating personalized books featuring students’ names and photos — an approach that not only builds excitement around reading, but also helps children develop confidence and early literacy skills.

“The classrooms all love her because when she comes, she shares her love of reading with everyone,” a colleague shared. “Students light up when they see themselves in the books she creates, and it has a huge impact on their learning.”

At the heart of everything Lisa does is a genuine care for others. She is known for her thoughtful, supportive approach and her ability to connect with both colleagues and students in meaningful ways.

“Lisa is the very definition of a team player while also being a leader among her colleagues,” said Heather. “She brings a calm, steady presence, along with knowledge and perspective that are invaluable to those around her.”

Lisa has been with Livingston ESA for nearly 20 years, beginning her career as a Lead Teacher in early childhood programs before becoming an Early Childhood Specialist, and now serving as a Preschool Literacy Coach. Throughout each role, she has remained deeply committed to supporting educators, empowering families, and advocating for children.

Livingston ESA is proud to honor Lisa Pecorilli-Eoll for her excellence, leadership, and commitment to early childhood education during the month of April. We are grateful for the lasting impact she continues to make across our agency and beyond.
